Ron Steistorfer
                                  Wins District 13 Semi's

The Maryland Bass Federation hosted the District 13 2017 Semifinals on the Upper Chesapeake Bay out of Dundee State Park. Originally scheduled as a two-day event to be held on September 30 and October 1, due to weather conditions, the tournament became a one-day event held on October 1. Tournament day temperatures were in the low 40s with high-pressure and low tide conditions most of the day due to the high winds on Saturday, September 30.

Tournament standings:

Maryland co-angler Ron Steirstorfer, overall winner with a total weight of 18.40 lbs. and lunker winner with 5.60 lbs., is moving on to the TBF Nationals as a boater.

Nation’s Capitol top boater Brian Trieschman, with a total weight of 18.10 lbs. and a big bass of 5.34 lbs., is moving on the TBF Nationals as a boater.

Also moving on to the TBF Nationals are:

Maryland: Danny Rodriguez, JT Lang, and Roland Bosley

Delaware: Craig Morris and Brian Barnes, Ranger Cup winner

Nation’s Capitol: Brian Trieschman and David Barker

State Pride competition standings: Delaware, the winner with 69.05 lbs.; Maryland with 57.18 lbs.; and, the National’s Capitol with 50.47 lbs.

Congratulations to all our winners! The total payout for the event in cash and prizes was $11,400. To help replenish local waters due to fish kills over recent years, $200 was donated to the M.R. Bass Stocking Fund.

The host hotel was the Ramada Inn and Conference Center in Edgewood, Maryland. The guest speaker was Joe Love from the Maryland DNR speaking about Maryland’s fisheries with follow-up questions from the audience.

A special thanks to the following for making this event a success: TBF members; MBN members; Ramada Inn and Conference Center; FLW; Ranger Boats; Cabela’s; Lowrance; Minn Kota; Berkley; Humminbird; Evinrude; and, Power Pole.

Also Congratulation to Dan Rodriguez, Roland Bosley and Rob Yeckley
